Living a goal or a purpose?

Are you living a goal or a purpose?

Whilst working in Vienna this week, I met many interesting people and lots of old friends. One of my old friends really showed how he lived his purpose every day- he used this as his compass for everything in his life. I contrast this with many others that I worked with, who were living for their ‘goal’.

They lived very different lives – one in ‘flow’ as he defined things that happened as part of the experience of his life. The other frustrated because he couldn’t achieve a set target.

When you live your purpose, the goals you set are but markers of your successful living. When you live for a goal, it becomes an all-or-nothing contest without satisfaction until that point in the future….that may never come.

Happiness always, or just somewhere up the road? What will you choose? What is your purpose?

Live Well
